The Clean Energy Forum of the 7th East Asia Summit in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China, noted that energy connectivity between China and ASEAN is becoming closer, especially with the completion of 16 cross-border power transmission lines.
According to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IEA), ASEAN’s installed renewable energy capacity has increased more than 1.5 times compared to last year. Transforming energy development patterns and developing green and low-carbon energy have become a key focus of joint development between China and ASEAN.
China and ASEAN have built 16 power transmission lines with a capacity of 110 kV or more, and the two sides have conducted cross-border electricity trade of more than 75 billion kWh, with green electricity accounting for over 90%, according to a report by China Central Television (CMG) on November 4, 2025.
