His Excellency Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Investment Promotion and Management Committee, attended and delivered remarks at the Sharjah–Laos Business Roundtable on 4 February 2026.
The event was jointly organized by the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce, PTL Group, and Gulftainer, with more than 60 participants in attendance.
The roundtable aimed to strengthen trade and investment cooperation between Laos and the United Arab Emirates, while providing a platform for business exchanges in key sectors such as transport and logistics, ports, expressway development, modern processing industries, and related fields.
During the meeting, Dr. Vanthana Nolintha, Head of Investment Promotion and Management Committee Office, presented investment opportunities and promotion policies of the Lao PDR. He invited UAE businesses to explore investment opportunities in energy, infrastructure, data centers, clean agriculture, and integrated tourism.
The event also featured the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs): one between the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce, and another between PTL Holding and Gulftainer, aimed at enhancing trade and investment cooperation between the Lao and UAE business sectors.
