Laos and Azerbaijan signed a memorandum of understanding on legal matters.
APA reported that Kamran Aliyev, Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, met with a Lao delegation led by Xaysana Khotphouphone, President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic’s Prosecutor’s Office.
During the meeting, Kamran Aliyev highlighted the successful diplomatic and bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Laos, noting that these relations were further strengthened by the good relations between the heads of state.
Kamran Aliyev also highlighted the legal reforms implemented in Azerbaijan, including the launch of the Electronic Prosecutor’s Information System, which is designed to increase the efficiency and accountability of the prosecutor’s office.
Xaysana Khotphouphone, President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic’s Prosecutor’s Office, praised the cooperation between the Azerbaijani and Lao prosecutors, expressing hope that this cooperation will prove beneficial for both parties.
The two sides also discussed ways to expand mutual legal assistance, exchange knowledge and best practices, and strengthen joint efforts to combat crime. The meeting concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office and the Laos Prosecutor General’s Office.
The Lao delegation also visited the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office Historical Museum, where they received detailed information on exhibits reflecting the institution’s activities.
