On September 25, 2015, at the Kommadam Army Military Academy, the Ministry of Defense held a wrist-tying ceremony (baci) for Lao and Russian officers and soldiers participating in the “Laros-2025” joint exercise, with the slogan “Fighting shoulder to shoulder for peace and stability.”
Attendees of the ceremony included Lieutenant General Saichay Kommasith, Deputy Minister of Defense of Laos and Head of the Joint Steering Committee for the Lao-Russian exercise, and Ivan Taraev, Acting Deputy Commander of the Eastern Military District of the Russian Federation, head of the Russian delegation, leaders of both delegations, guests, officials, and soldiers of both countries.
The ceremony provided an opportunity to express good health and success in the missions assigned to all participating officers and soldiers, while also contributing to fostering the traditional friendship and solidarity between the Lao and Russian armies.
In a friendly atmosphere, officers and soldiers from both sides tied their wrists. They came together to exchange blessings and show the spirit of unity between the two armed forces, the Laotian Army and the Russian Army.
