At the invitation of South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, Lao Party General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith and his spouse will pay an official visit to the Republic of Korea from 14 to 15 December 2025.
The visit comes as the two countries celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, which is an important step in promoting bilateral relations.
During the visit to Korea, the President and his spouse will participate in various activities to strengthen friendship, expand cooperation in various fields, and enhance cooperation between Laos and the Republic of Korea.
Laos and South Korea established diplomatic relations on 25 October 1995. Over the past three decades, bilateral cooperation has developed continuously, covering economy, investment, education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. This visit is expected to inject new impetus into Lao-Korea relations in the future.
