Vietnamese Private Enterprises Support the Education of Lao Children

On September 27, 2025, the Nghe An Entrepreneurs Club in Naxaithong District, Vientiane Capital, Laos, donated 100 bicycles and 100 sets of school supplies to underprivileged students in the district.

The gifts, including bags and uniforms, are expected to make it easier for the children to get to school and encourage them to strive for their education and daily lives.

Bounsou Phaviseth, Head of the Naxaithong Administration, said he was honored and proud to see Vietnamese enterprises donate school supplies and bicycles to underprivileged students.

He expressed his gratitude for the support and solidarity shown by Vietnamese businesses in the district, emphasizing that this assistance benefits both students and their parents. Officials pledged to coordinate closely to ensure the gifts are used effectively.

The local education sector also sees the support as an important source of encouragement. Mr. Suwan Phengmuangkhun, Deputy Head of the Naxaithong Education and Sports Office, said that the donation of bicycles and school supplies not only makes it easier for underprivileged students to travel to school. It also motivates them to work harder.

Pony Thanongsak, an 8th-grade student at Nam Kiang Secondary School, said that he used to walk a long distance every day. Now that he has a new bicycle, getting to school is much easier. He vows to study hard to be worthy of the care he receives.

For Khounphiphak Peng, a 3rd-grade student at Huakhua Primary School, the bicycle has even more meaning. He was raised by his grandmother after the loss of his parents, and every day he walks to school before returning home early to cook and care for her.

Receiving the bicycle and gift, Khounphiphak expressed his delight and promised to study well, live responsibly, and stay away from social evils to repay his grandmother’s dedication.
