The declaration stated that the world is in a period of significant transition, the global trading system still faces significant challenges, while technological advances are rapidly changing and demographic changes are having a lasting impact on the economies of APEC members.

The declaration called for strengthening cooperation and taking concrete measures to support mutually beneficial economic growth.

The leaders also endorsed two additional documents, the APEC Artificial Intelligence Project and the APEC Framework for Cooperation on Demographic Change./
