SEOUL ” Reuters Reported ” Lao President Thongloun Sisulith will visit North Korea at the invitation of leader Kim Jong Un to celebrate the anniversary of the country’s ruling party on October 10, according to a report by the state news agency KCNA announced on Thursday, October 2, 2025.
The visit will be a rare trip by a foreign head of state to North Korea, which is under heavy international sanctions over its nuclear and missile programs and continues to restrict foreign visitors.
The leader of the Communist Party of Vietnam is expected to visit North Korea in October, his first visit to the isolated country in nearly 20 years.
The potential visit, which is still under preparation, has not yet been officially announced by both sides (North Korea and Laos )
